The DIGITOL Academy will promote knowledge transfer between younger and older adults, through an intergenerational approach aimed to close the gaps between these two groups and to find new ways to cooperate and interact with each other.

DIGITOL aims to empower older people and build their confidence to participate online. By consolidating the digital skills of older adults, DIGITOL will ensure the quality of the information older people can find online, and contribute to making the Internet accessible to new responsible and digitally-educated users.

Through intergenerational activities, DIGITOL will promote mutual learning, social cohesion, and active citizenship and thus contribute to defending the European common values of solidarity and diversity. At times where intense digital communications tend to facilitate the dissemination of fake news that fuel populism and discrimination, DIGITOL will participate in building an inclusive alternative for our digital worlds.
